  • The distinctive black spot on the tail fin is the key identifying feature.
  • Will defend territory from other blennies; only one per small tank.
  • Secure aquarium lid is essential; capable jumpers despite small size.
  • Generally peaceful toward all other species.
  • May be outcompeted for food by larger, more aggressive feeders.
  • Spends time both perched and actively grazing surfaces.
  • One of the best blenny choices for aquariums under 30 gallons.
  • Less demanding of constant algae than larger grazing blennies.

  1. Dan K

My Tailspot Blenny arrived happy and healthy and ate as soon as food was presented. It’s got great personality and is getting along well with other tank inhabitants with no aggression or irregular behavior. It didn’t take me long to see why so many people have raved about the TS Blenny’s great personality. The order was well worth the wait and I look forward to buying from Dr. Reef in the future.

  2. Yee Yang

I love this little blenny so much. It eats very well and will swim out in the open if it needs to get some more food to eat. It’s fun watching it look for holes big enough for it to squish inside and pop it’s head out.
