Acclimation Guide
Food
- We feed a mixture of frozen mysis and brine.
- We feed that mix 2 times a day. In some cases, we also feed frozen bloodworms.
NOTE: We might ship fish with medication in some shipping bags to keep stress and ammonia at bay so do not mix fish with inverts and keep them separate.
Acclimation process for Corals
- Temp acclimate by floating bag/container in your sump or tank with lights off for 15-20 min.
- After temp acclimation simply take the coral out of the transport bag/container and place it in your tank.
- Light acclimate slowly, We keep corals at 150-300 PAR under Aquaillumination Hydra Edge 68, about 10-12" above water line.
Acclimation process for Inverts
- We ship inverts at salinity of 1.025-26, Simply float the unopened bags in a tank or sump (with lights off) for 20-30 mins then cut the bags and net/scoop the inverts out and release them in the tank.
NOTE: Please do not mix inverts with fish transport water as fish water contains medicines, Please keep the fish and inverts separate in acclimation.
Acclimation process for Fish
- After receiving the package please inspect the box and bags for damage
- Please check all bags and make sure fish arrived alive.
- After checking, turn the aquarium lights off, then float all unopened bags in your sump or tank for temperature acclimation. Float for 20-30 min.
- After temp acclimation, cut open the bags and scoop out the livestock and release them in the tank or release all fish in a bucket along with transport water. Keep inverts separate as fish water may contain ammonia reducer. Then scoop the fish out of the buckets and release them in your tank.
- If fish were delayed in shipment, skip everything and simply release them in your tank right away, keeping lights off.
Low Salinity in some fish bags (For Fish Only)
- We generally ship fish at sg 1.023-26, in some fragile fish we do ship at much lower salinity at 1.018.
- In case of low salinty, release all fish in a bucket, let them rest for 15 to 20 min for ambient air to interact with the water raising the pH slowly. After 15-20 pH should be balanced, then scoop them out and release in your tank keeping lights off. Do not worry about matching salinity.
